The State Republican Party has passed a Rule to close the Republican primaries.
SC Republican Convention delegates Met Saturday June 27 in Columbia to vote on a new Rule to close the Primaries and make people register as Republican to vote for republicans in the primary. And that Candidates in the Republican primaries must register AS a Republican to run. After a lengthy attempt to push a bunch of nonsense into this proceedings by a surprising number of "republican" party delegates from 3 or 4 counties, the rule was finally voted on and Passed! (Unanimously by the Greenwood Delegates).
Now the State Party has standing to sue the state and force the elections commission to start registering people as Republican in order to vote in Republican Primaries. It will have no effect on the vote in the upcoming General Elections in November,. In the future, candidates running as Republicans must have been registered beforehand.
Hopefully this new change in the election of our representatives will help weed out the Rino's who are in charge in Columbia.
